Monday July 20th

Today i started finishing the whole project by starting my self evaluation, and spending time thinking to myself about what went well in my project, what i enjoyed, what did not go so well, and what i thought could be improved, i saw this as a good chance for me to express how i felt my project went and how i felt i had worked. I then organised a brief meeting with my client, so he could evaluate my products, i got him to fill out a questionnaire and by the results it seemed as if i had a done the job to a good standard. He seemed really impressed with my internet webpage and said it really appealed to the audience, he also said that i had really impressed with my creativity, and the information showed on the webpage is really detailed. He also said my poster idea was very detailed but was also very creative, and my radio advert was probably a bit too long , but was really detailed and was again very creative. Overall i thought my project went very well, i had a few ups and downs but came across them and i feel i have done a really successful project.

Wednesday 15th July

Today i finished my radio advert, it is around 30 seconds long and includes lots of student opinions, and includes a catchy soundtrack in chris brown, i feel it real gives the sixth form a good name and could persuade young teenagers to come to the open day, i am now going to burn it to a disk and stick it into my portfolio. I made up making a few changes from i actually intended to do at the start of my project. I changed my music background, and also i changed the people doing my voiceover as some were not available at the time. I feel if i could do it again i would have more experience with the type of work and be able to do a much more efficient product, but i am very happy with a first attempt at a radio advert

Wednesday 1st July

Today i started work on my radio advert, i feel this will be the most difficult part of my project as i have never done one before, but i cracked on with it. I had a few good ideas from my initail ideas and rough drafts for how i was going to do the project. I already came across a problem, my own doing really, the soundtrack i was going to use i didn't bring in to put on the mac, so i had to use a song i already had on my computer, so i ended up using chris brown - forever. After finalizing my script and me thinking i was ready to film, another problem hit, the person i had chosen to do my voiceover was not free, so i couldn't use them, i had to find another person, which in the end was not a problem. But it was not exactly a great help having all these problems.

Wednesday 24th June

I have now nearly finished my webpage completely and it actually looks really good and eye catching. My colour scheme really suits the webpage, and the pictures really attract the audience in. My pages include Home. Information, Courses, Gallery and Contact information, i feel it has been a good design and hopefully my audience will agree with me. I decided on really making the webpage useful, but also very informative, so the audience would be attracted to the webpage, butt then when they actually engage into it, and start reading into the sixth form and its value to year 11 sixth forms. I feel the main aspect of my webpage is my creativity, it was my first time making a website, and i feel it was a great success, it was easily the most enjoyable of my 3 products, as i could really use my imagination and expand my knowledge into making a very creative webpage.

Wednesday 17th June

i have now got fully into creating my final webpage. i decided on using 350.com as it had alot of good examples, and unlike any other website creator you did not have to pay to use it, so i thought this would be a good site to make my webpage. I decided i would make 6 pages for my website, home page, information page, courses page, thoughts page, gallery page and then finally a contact us page. I came across my first problem when designing my website, i had originally decided on a blue background, but was unable to use a blue background, as i was having to use one of 350's templates, so i had to change that, and have a dark background with blue writing. i am really looking forward to starting my design as i feel it gives me a chance to express my creative side, and show my client that a webpage is the best way to get the information of the sixth form across to year 11 students

Wednesday 10th June

Today i have nearly finished the final product to my poster, it has took a lot longer then i expected, i had a few problems with my background as i couldn't decide on how i wanted it to look.I had to change alot from my original idea, as some of my ideas i was unable to do, at first i wanted a blue background behind my poster, but for some odd reason i was unable to do that, so i decided that i would have a brick background, but then had a problem that when i was taking the picture ben walked out the common room, having looked at the photo it actually looked really good from the poster, so i decided to keep it and have all my information and pictures around it, another problem occurred when putting text onto my poser, as it was hard to find a colour that stood out with the brick background, this was only a short delay though, i then placed my pictures in the right positions on the poster and finally had finished my poster.

Friday 5th June

At the end of the week i have finished the final draft for my poster, which i had a few problems with as i had to make alot of changes to it, my idea at the start of the project had near enough vanished and i had a completely new idea, as i felt the colour scheme at the start of my project was not very well thought out so decided to change it. My radio advert has been given alot of thought as i have never done one before, i had a few good ideas, using a catchy soundtrack, and enthusiastic students doing the voiceovers. My final draft sounded good, and i feel the final product will be much better. I have also finished the final draft from my webpage, i cant wait to crack on with this product as i have alot of quality color ideas, and designs for how i am going to finish my final design and make it even more creative and eye catching.

Monday 1st June

Today i finished all of my rough drafts and set up a meeting with my client to discuss what i had designed. I set out a few questions in which i would like him to answer so i could have a better idea of what i need to improve and what is working well. After discussing my products he really liked the idea of my webpage but did recommend i be a little more creative, for my poster he liked the catchy slogan and said to work around that with bigger images and fonts, after hearing all this i decided to work on my final drafts.

Wednesday 29th April

Today, i finished my rough draft for my poster, i stuck it in to my portfolio and annotated around it to give myself more information about what the poster will look like, it goes along with my meetings from the client so hopefully it is what my client is looking for. I then started on the rough draft for my website, i got told to be a bit more creative by my client so i cam up with a very good creative idea, which i am pretty confident he will like, i have nearly finished that and i will then stick that into my portfolio and annotate around that as well.

Friday 24th April

In todays lesson i started my draft for m poster, i didn't have to be too neat as it was only a draft to give an idea of the finalized project, i finished the layout and a few of the text images on the poster, i had already made a rough draft but did not like it very much so it was good to start a new one over again. I will now crack on with the draft and have it finished by the next lesson so i can annotate it in my portfolio and come up with a final idea :)

Wednesday 22nd April

Today i had another meeting with my client to discuss a few more ideas for posters, webpage and a leaflet, i showed my client a few rough drafts for a poster and he seemed to like to layout and was impressed with the idea, but he did say that there should be more colour and less writing so it will attract the audience more. My webpage idea proved well an all as he like the colour scheme and the idea itself, but said i should try and be more creative with my idea of a webpage and not make it too basic. After my meeting i then went back to lesson and wrote down my notes from the meeting and cracked on with amending my ideas.

Monday 16th March

Today i started an audience questionnaire to find out information into why current year 12 students came to sixth form. Questions included how they found out about sixth form, what attracted them to come to sixth form, and what they look for in advertising, after ding this i can compile the information and begin putting together my plans for different aspects of advertising KN6. After this i will try to make a focus group, get a few people together to talk about these questions that were asked, so i can get an oral response from audiences.

Monday 9th March

Today, we did some research on demographics and psychographics to find out what they were and how they will help us with our sixth form project. We found out that they will become very useful when we started to produce our products. It also gave us a great idea into how the audience gets what they want to see. Also i finished all of my work on advertising, which included a presentation on different types of advertising, i then printed that off a stuck it in my portfolio, which is now up to date with everything i have done. I now plan to look into some audience research to see what will attract year 11 to the sixth firm and also asking year 12 and 13 students for what attracted them to the sixth form.

Monday 1st March

Today was important as we had our first interview with our COMMISSION client, it gave us the chance to fully understand what he wants from us, more information about the project and also the chance to get across some initial ideas. I asked him a wide rang of question from if i could use the internet for the project which he replied yes definitely, to what could i use a solid base for my project, where can i start from, he said to start with an internet base if i could. The interview was of great use as it gave me a full understanding of what he requires from us in the project, and also some ideas from which i can start the project on.

Friday 27th February

Today, we had our meetings sorted with our COMMISION client, mine is at 12:45 on Monday, and look forward to asking some more questions about the project. So today's lesson task was to write down questions that we are going to ask our client, most of them being about the project, what he requires in certain aspects, colour scheme ideas and just to gain more information on what he wants the project to include. As well as this we brainstormed initial ideas into how we are going to go about the project, i decided that posters dvd's and information packs were good ideas, and will discuss them with my client on the monday to see if he agrees.

Commission Client and Thoughts

Today we received our COMMISSION client which was Mr Newman, which was surprising to me as i thought we would all have a different client each and all be working on a solo task, and would not all be working on the same task just on our own. The task/assignment is to produce a multimedia professional campaign to attract/promote year 11 students into sixth form, using radio adverts poster campaigns. dvd/cd etc. My initial thoughts on the project is that it will be a very interesting project, which will require alot of work, and i will have use my time wisely in order to get it all done to a good standerd. I look forward to the project, as the sixth form project sounds interesting and getting my own ideas across about sixth form will be good.
